After a great run as The Three Quarter Plate, I have to change name.
Another publication recently popped up with the same name, and rather than get into a dispute, I’ve chosen to pivot—with a name that’s even more “me.”
Welcome to The Deadbeat Seconds.
My favourite complication and it’s a name that, like this newsletter, rewards those in the know. A deadbeat seconds complication ticks like quartz but is entirely mechanical—rare, precise, and quietly subversive. Which feels about right.
Nothing else is changing. Same tone. Same deep dives. Same irreverent but collector-driven takes on Lange, Rolex, Patek and everything in between. Just with a new name that better reflects the rhythm and purpose behind every post.
